About

In 2006 Colleen Longo received her MFA from Pratt Institute, graduating with Honors. Longo was selected by Michael Brenson to participate in a public symposium critiqued by David Levi-Strauss, David Cohen and Donald Kuspit where her work was described as being film noir meets modern nostalgia. She has participated in auctions hosted in Peer Gallery and Daniel Cooney Fine Art. She has been published in Shots magazine, the International Korean Photography Magazine, MonthlyPhoto, and Fahrenheit issued in Mexico.Colleen is passionate about teaching and has assisted at the International Center of Photography and lectured at The School of Visual Arts. A member of the Society of Photographic Education, College Art Association and works with traditional black and white film and printing processesCurrently, she is traveling across America to photograph her close female friends and grandmother. Her work explores the depth of her relationships with her subjects, and she has tracked their lives and environments over the past five years. This collection of work is a record of time and the result of collaboration.
